Abstract

902,494. Securing cams on shafts. MOTOREN-WERKE MANNHEIM A.G. July 22, 1960, No. 25609/60. Class 80 (2). Cams 1, 2 for operating fuel injection pumps of a diesel engine are secured by bolts 12, which pass with clearance through holes in the cams, to flanges 10, 11 integral with valve operating cams 4, 5 which are keyed at 6, 7 to a shaft 3, and eccentrics 16 carried by the flanges 10, 11 engage holes in the cams 1, 2 to permit the latter to be adjusted circumferentially relative to the shaft. The cams are adjusted by turning the ends 20 of the eccentrics with a spanner and are held in the adjusted position by lock-nuts 19, 20.
