Abstract
724,705. Mineral mining machines; ploughs. HERRMAN, J. March 11, 1953 [March 12, 1952], No. 6728/53. Addition to 649,962. Class 68(1). In a plough of the type disclosed in the parent Specification which is referred to, a pivot pin 15, about which a cutting edge carrier 14 moves in relation to a guide beam 10, is adjustable with respect to either the cutting edge carrier or the guide beam. An adjustable or interchangeable bush is provided in either the carrier or the beam for engagement with the pin, which is mounted in the other component. The bushing may be a rotatable ring 16 provided with an eccentric aperture or it may be one of a number of interchangeable non-rotatable bushes, in each of which the aperture is differently positioned. A pin 18 secured to the guide beam 10 engages in a slot 19 in the cutting-edge carrier to limit the pivotal movement of the carrier.
