Abstract

1,165,270. Mineral-mining machines. ANDERSON MAVOR Ltd. 9 May, 1968 [18 May, 1967], No. 23015/67. Heading E1F. In a mineral-mining machine having at least one mining assembly comprising a vertically swingable arm 4 pivoted on a motor-housing body 2 of the machine and a shearer drum 3 mounted on to extend laterally of the arm 4 to be positioned to one side of the body 2 there is provided a scraper 9 for co-operating with the drum 3 in the conveyance of cut mineral by the drum axially thereof towards the body 2 and this scraper 9 is so mounted in the machine that it may be moved vertically in accordance with the vertical adjustment of the drum and also sideways out of the linear path of the drum as the machine is moved. Preferably the plate 9 is supported by a parallelogram linkage comprising a bracket 6, the arm 4, a ram 7 and the body 2, the linkage permitting of the first of the above specified movements. The plate 9 is secured on the bracket 6 about an axis at right angles to the swing axis of the linkage and can be rotated by a jack 12 about this second axis for the second of the above specified movements.
