Abstract

1,132,765. Mineral-mining machines. ANDERSON MAYOR Ltd. 15 Feb., 1967 [9 March, 1966], No. 10257/66. Heading E1F. Sensing mechanism is associated with, to control vertical swinging movement of, a cutter drum-carrying arm 6 of a mining machine slidable along a conveyer. The mechanism cooperates with the conveyer to record variations in levels of the conveyer and a reference point on, the arm and to control vertical swinging of the arm to maintain a constant difference between the levels. Forming the mechanism is a downwardly biassed, conveyer-contacting slide rod 11 connected by a parallelogram linkage 8 to the arm 6 to suitably operate through a linkage 27, 21, 25, 26 a valve 19 controlling a hydraulically actuable ram 15 by which the arm is swung vertically.
