Abstract

966,714. Mineral-mining machines. ANDERSON, BOYES & CO. Ltd. Nov. 30, 1962 [Aug. 30, 1961], No. 31185/61. Heading E1F. To allow of variation of the angle of tilt of a mineral-mining machine transvervely of a conveyer along which the machine travels the machine is supported on the conveyer through support means of which at least one is automatically varied in length by a sensing means to cause variation of the angle of tilt as required to conform to datum conditions. Preferably the adjustable support means comprise a pair of hydraulic jacks 4 secured to either end of the machine at one side thereof, each jack being coupled to a skid 3c sliding on a side frame of the conveyer. Screw units may replace the jacks 4. Automatic adjustment of the support means is controlled by a sensing element on the machine determining variation of the machine from a predetermined position as it moves along the conveyer.
