Abstract

1,168,964. Feeding tobacco. K. W. QUESTER [trading as FIRMA WILHELM QUESTER]. 1 March, 1968 [5 April, 1967], No. 9991/68. Heading A2C. A device for feeding tobacco via the bottom feed belt 1 of a feed box (not shown) to another installation or machine (not shown), tobacco is fed in the direction 10 onto a travelling belt 6 and thence onto a belt 1, the belt 6 being carried on a truck 7 reciprocably movable above the belt 1 and preceeded at its discharge end by a photoelectric control device 11 mounted on a boom 12. The device 11, which is vertically adjustable, by detecting a predetermined level of tobacco on the belt 1, controls the movement of the truck 7 and hence the position above the belt 1 where the tobacco is fed. A levelling device 13 is also provided.
