A device for supplying leaf or cut tobacco to a processing device, such as a bale press, a pressing drum or a drier, in which tobacco is fed via a horizontally oscillated distributing belt 7 to a moving floor belt 2, includes at least one device 11 for equalizing the height of the piled up tobacco over the remaining length of the box. A removal device 15 and a beater 16 are also provided above a delivery funnel 17.
