July 10, 1931, No. 19883. Convention date, July 15, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 130.] In a tobacco-feeding machine in which a carded conveyer drum 16 advances the tobacco toward a shoot 39, a plurality of trimming- rollers 20, 20a act successively on the tobacco layer on the drum, the last-encountered roller being located nearer to the drum than the other rollers. As described in Specification 355,663, the rollers are rotated faster than the drum and the tobacco is discharged into the shoot by a comb 30, picker roller 31, belt 33, and a concave unit formed by rollers 36, 37, 38. The tobacco is fed to the drum by a belt 12 and a comb 45, as described in Specification 358,575. Surplus tobacco may be returned to the hopper from the drum 16 by a carded belt, and also by the trimming-rollers.
