Convention date, June 25, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 130.] In a tobacco-feeding machine tobacco is fed to the band conveyer 23 of a rod forming mechanism (not shown) by a roller 25 having serrated edges 26, which traverse grooves in a shoot 32. The rear faces of the edges 26 are streamlined. The tobacco is fed from a hopper 10 by a belt 11 to a carding drum 14 above which is a dressing roller 17. Tobacco is removed from the drum 14 by a picker roller 20 and a comb 22 and projected into the shoot 32. Tapered pins 43 on the picker roller traverse grooves in a guide-plate 36 and are set with a backward rake.
