Abstract

782,781. Cigarette hoppers. KORBER, K. July 4, 1955 [July 21, 1954], No. 19242/55. Class 78 (1). Agitating means 7 for agitating cigarettes 2 in a hopper 1 is rocked by motor driven eccentric rolls 9a, 9b which rotate to displace block 12 so that said agitating means oscillates about pivot 8. Additionally, the rolls project through recesses 7a, 7b in the means 7 to positively feed the cigarettes downwards. As shown, elliptical elements 14a, 14b may be rocked by hand lever 18 to provide a further agitation, the cigarettes being fed from the hopper by eccentric rolls 5a, 5b to passage 3 and thence into the grooves of drum 4. The whole device may be incorporated in a cigarette machine of the type employing two cigarettes separated by a double filter tip.
