Abstract

1363022 Cutter drum type mining machines EICKHOFF MACHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI mbH Gebr 17 March 1972 [19 March 1971] 12571/72 Heading E1F A rotary drum cutter is supported by the goaf side of the conveyer trough and on newly exposed floor at a position beyond the face side of the conveyer by means such as a skid 17. Preferably additional support is provided by one or more elements 8 on the underside of the drive-containing body 1 of the machine slidably engaging with a floor supported bottom plate 6, 7 directly attached to the face side of the conveyer trough. A support arm for the cutter drum is positioned to the goaf side of the body 1. The arm can pivot about an axis transverse of the conveyer. The pressure at which the skid 17 is pressed against the floor can be varied by a jack actuated linkage housed in the face side of the body.
