Cutter pick-carrying arms 20 are pivotably attached to the periphery of a drum so as to be extended radially to varying extents by stays 30 also pivotably attached to both the arms and the drum. The drum, arms, and stays are provided with various apertures 13, 15, 16, 23, 24 to permit of variation of the radius of operation of the picks.
