Abstract

723,990. Frequency meters. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 27, 1953 [Feb. 4, 1952], No. 2918/52. Class 37. A frequency meter consists of a saturable capacitor D which is charged to saturation and fully discharged every half-cycle through a bridge rectifier circuit R in the diagonal of which is a D.C. meter M indicating the rectified average current through the condenser. Since the saturation charge is independent of frequency and waveform this average current is directly proportional to frequency.
