Abstract
722,227. Children's dresses &c. CONFORMA, Ltd. Aug. 17, 1953 [Aug. 19, 1952], No. 20769/52. Class 141. A child's garment, e.g. dress, having a bodice A and skirt portion B which can be increased from a standard size to the next larger standard size has the length of the bodice made equal to the length of the larger size and a fold a secured by stitching a<SP>1</SP> at the junction of the bodice and skirt and having a depth equal to the difference between the length of the bodice in the two sizes, so that the garment can be easily altered. The skirt B may be provided with a hem b turned up to form a second hem b<SP>1</SP> secured by slip-stitching b<SP>2</SP>. A fold c may be formed at each side seam and secured by stitching c<SP>2</SP>. Two alternative belt loops may be provided at the back, one being secured by the stitching a<SP>1</SP> so that it falls away when this is unpicked, or two alternative piping strips may be provided at the waist in a similar manner. A large overlap b<SP>4</SP> may be provided at the back to allow the buttons E to be moved.
