721,751. Piston and piston-rod packing. SOC. D'INVENTIONS AERONAUTIQUES ET MECANIQUES, S.I.A.M. Aug. 7, 1951 [Aug. 10, 1950], No. 18630/51. Classes 122 (1), 122 (3) and 122 (5). [Also in Group V] A sealing ring G for fluid-pressure apparatus is moulded in such a way that any moulding flash, which would normally occur at the points F and thereby interfere with the effectiveness of the seal, is formed at the points a and b which are not in the plane E of maximum diameter of the ring. As shown, the flash will occur on the surface of a cone C passing through the centre O of the cross-section of the ring. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 654,509.
