Abstract

721,500. Floors. KIRCHNER, I. A. Aug. 29, 1952, No. 21742/52. Class 20 (4). Reinforced concrete floors are formed of rows of slabs 6 resting on joists each composed of two parts 1 which define between them a wedge-shaped recess, the slabs 6 being so arranged on the joists that only line contacts exist between the slabs 6 and the parts 1 and so that gaps are left between them, the whole being interconnected by poured concrete. As shown, the inner faces of the parts 1 are undercut at 4 and the wedge-shaped recess is provided with a zig-zag reinforcement 12. The slabs 6 have outwardly and downwardly sloping sides, two of which have spaced projecting noses 8 which rest on an edge of a part 1. The transverse joints between adjacent slabs are also filled with concrete and provided with reinforcements 11 passing through the loops of the reinforcements 12.
