Abstract
545,610. Building-blocks; walls. COX, J. A. Dec. 3, 1940, No. 17200. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] A building block 1, Fig. 1, is formed with an undercut recess 2 in one side leaving two projections 3 each of a width equal to half that of the recess, and with two upstanding bosses on its upper face and corresponding recesses on its opposite face. In a modified construction, Fig. 3, the block may be formed with an under projection 6 leaving end recesses 7 each half the width of the projection. Fig. 4 shows part of a wall built from blocks constructed as in Fig. 1, the joints being sealed by a mastic &c. bonding material, preferably that described in Specification 489,373. Fig. 6 shows a modified construction of wall, the blocks being spaced apart and the gap between them filled with concrete 11 reinforced by rods 12.
