Abstract

541,211. Walls, floors &c. GUIGNON, E. S. March 12, 1940, No. 4634. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] A building structure comprises spaced, parallel tubes &c., rectangular blocks with edge grooves in which the tubes fit, and transverse tensioning rods passing through the tubes ; the blocks may consist of sheet metal parts with interengaging edges. As shown in Fig. 1, the structure comprises' the framework 42 which lies in the edge grooves in the blocks 48 forming the walls and ceilings, the transverse tensioning rods 54 lying in the other edge grooves. The tubular framework is secured to bosses provided on corner pieces and angular blocks are formed by cutting the corners of the standard block. As shown in Fig. 15 the blocks may consist of two similar metal tray-like parts 90 united by tongues 108 and the tubes may be replaced by the rods embedded in concrete filling the edge grooves ; the blocks may be filled with insulating material.
