719,674. Troughs for endless conveyers. MAATSCHAPPIJ VOOR KOLENBEWERKING STAMICARBON N.V. Aug. 20, 1952, [Aug. 24, 1951.] No. 20888/52. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XXV] Adjacent sections 1, 2 of the trough of an endless conveyer are linked together at each side of the trough in a manner permitting relative articulation of the sections by bolts 5 extending through sleeves 3, 4 on the ends of the sections, the sleeves being secured by the head 6 of the bolt abutting the sleeve 3 and by a pin 10 which is driven around a groove 7 on the bolt through an entrance 8 in the wall of the sleeve 4, the pin protruding out of the groove and abutting a projection 9 on the sleeve. The connection between the sleeves is broken by striking the bolt head 6 with a hammer whereby the pin 10 is sheared off at the entrance 8. The relative movement between the sections may be reduced by passing the sleeve 4 over the bolt so as to bring the entrance 8 into registration with either of grooves 13, 14 in the bolt and then forcing the pin through said entrance into the selected groove. The grooves 7, 13, 14 are each provided with a stop 15 which may be formed by a local weld deposited in the groove so that the bolt is locked against turning after the pin has been driven round the groove. The pins and the grooves may be of rectangular cross-section with the long side of the section parallel to the bolt. The grooves may follow a helical course.
