Abstract

718,986. Dry shavers. ANTRETTER, R. April 17. 1952 [April 19, 1951], No. 9646/52. Class 131 An electric dry shaver comprises a domed shear plate and a number of shear blades in the form of pins mounted for free rotation, each about its own axis, and moving in concentric paths below and in contact with the plate, the pins being at different radial distances from the axis of the concentric movement and each being independently sprung against the shear plate. As shown shearing pins 10 are mounted between plates 12, 13 of a frame which is rotated by engagement with a semi-circular extension 9 of the drive shaft 2 of an electric motor in the casing 1. The pins are free to revolve on their own axes and are urged bv springs 15 into shearing contact with a shear plate 5, secured to a cylindrical extension 7 of the casing 1 by a threaded ring 6, and removable for the evacuation of cut hair from the cavity 4. The pins are grooved at 17 to form a cutting edge and are mounted in the frame so that their. longitudinal axes coincide in a point 18 which is the centre of the shear plate 5.
