Sept. 22, 1952 [Jan. 3, 1952], No. 23663/52. Class 102 (2). [Also in Group XIV] Apparatus for dispensing pasty substances, e.g., mustard, comprises a container 1 having means for dispensing the substance under pressure through an outlet 17, the container having a conical surface 11 and a cylindrical surface 13 which fit complementary openings in a stand 10. The stand has a well 16 which may contain a solvent of the substance to prevent drying at the outlet 17. The contents are discharged by covering an opening 4 in a diaphragm 3 having a flange 5 secured to the container by a nut 2. A flanged ring 7 is placed between the diaphragm and the casing and a rib 9 on the diaphragm abuts the ring 7 and assists in returning the diaphragm after a discharge stroke.
