Abstract

829,955. Forcing liquids by gaseous pressure. GALEAZZI, F. Aug. 1, 1956 [Aug. 12, 1955], No. 23773/56. Class 102(2). [Also in Group XXIX] A valve for spraying liquids contained in a vessel 1 together with a volatile propellant comprises a resilient member 3 having a flange 4 which is secured to the container by tightening means 5. The member 3 is provided with a bore having an upper larger diameter portion 6 and a lower smaller diameter portion 7 in which is fixed a tube 17 extending to the bottom of the container. A rigid tubular member 8, having a flange 12 pressed lightly into contact with member 3 by the tightening means 5, extends into the bore 8 and has a projection 14 which fits into the smaller bore 7 forming a liquid seal. The lower part of the tubular member 8 has a downwardly projecting rim 10 and is pierced by an orifice 11 while a spray nozzle 15 is attached to the upper part. To discharge the liquid from the container the member 8 is tilted and the projection 14 deforms the bore 7 of the resilient member 3 allowing liquid to pass from the container, through the orifice 11 and out of the nozzle.
