[Also in Group XXXIV] A variable linkage valve for allowing air to enter the brake pipe 11 so as to modify the braking in vacuum servo brake systems so as to suit road or loading conditions, comprises a valve member 16 which may be opened against spring 17 to allow air to. enter through apertures 22, the valve being operated remotely by partial rotation of a handle 39 which by interaction with a helical cam face 36 applies a force to the Bowden cable 29, 31.
