[Class 103 (i).] A valve operated by a vehicle driver includes a fixed seating b in a body part a for an inlet valve e provided with an extension f carrying a balancing piston g acted on by a spring i to urge the inlet valve on to its seating, and a projection j carrying an outlet valve k slidable in a cylinder connected to the brake system. A spring-pressed slidable-seating m for the outlet valve is carried by a hollow stem through which air can escape to an orifice o and thus to the atmosphere. The valve is operated through a lever p connected to a rod formed in two parts connected by a spring and acted on by a pedal or hand lever. Specification 306,635, [Class 103 (i)], is referred to.
