Abstract

334,592. Bosch Akt.-Ges., R. Nov. 10, 1928, [Convention date]. Fluid-pressure.-Fluid-pressure brakes on a tractor and on a trailer are commonly controlled from the tractor and a further control for manually applying other brakes on the tractor is operatively connected with the fluid pressure brakes on the trailer. A foot pedal 3 controls fluid-pressure brakes on both tractor and trailer by valves 2<1>, 2<11> respectively, and a hand lever 21 applies the manual brakes on the tractor by a connection 22 and controls the fluid-pressure brakes on the trailer by the valve 2". When the pedal 3 is depressed connections 4, 5, 7, 15, 17 operate the levers 10, 11 of the valves 2<1>, 2<11>. The lever 21 is connected by a spring 23 and a lever 20 to the connection 17 which comprises a cylinder containing a spring 19 which forms the end 16 of the connection 15 against the end of the cylinder, so that when the lever 21 is operated the spring 19 is compressed and only the valve 2<11> is operated. The lever 5 is connected to the tractor brakes by a lever 12 having play in an eye 13 at one end of the lever 5.
