Abstract

714,802. Two-part couplings. WARD & GOLDSTONE, Ltd., and COUYOUMDJIAN, A. O. May 27, 1953, [May 27, 1952.] No. 13367/52. Class 38(1). A socket cover 10 having pin-entry holes 11, I2, I3 carries on its under surface a pair of shutters I6 in the form of bell-crank levers. The shutters are retained in position by an insulating plate 27 and each is pivoted at the junction of its arms on a stud I5 . In the operative position of the shutters, the arms I9 together cover the earth pin entry-hole I3, the other arms 20 covering the live and neutral pin entry-holes 11, 12. The ends of arms 19 are bevelled at 30 so that the earth pin, on insertion, will swing the shutters against springs 24 to uncover holes 11, 12.
