Class 69 (3) A portable spraying apparatus comprises, in combination, an I.C engine 7, a fan coupled thereto by means of a flexible shaft 5, and a liquid atomizer 3 disposed on the discharge side of the fan and provided with one or more flexible supply lines, the arrangement being such that the section comprising fan and atomizer can be moved independently of the I.C. engine. The atomizer is fed with liquid from a tank 13 through a flexible line 14, and pressure gas is delivered from the engine cylinder 8 to the tank and also to the atomizer through a flexible line 15. In an alternative embodiment the atomizer comprises a rotating cup in front of the fan and driven by the fan shaft, and liquid which is supplied to the cup is thrown off the cup edge and dispersed by the fan. Alternatively, liquid only is fed under pressure to the atomizer via a flexible line.
