Abstract

709,650. Fuel injectors. C. A. V., Ltd. Sept. 10, 1952 [Sept. 26, 1951], No. 22510/51. Class 7(3) A fuel injector comprises a main body part a, a separately formed flange member h, for attaching the injector to the engine, permanently secured by brazing or otherwise to the main body part, a laterally disposed branch piece j for connection of the fuel supply pipe, the branch piece being in screw-thread engagement with the flange h and having its inner end engaging in a recess in the main body part a, and a separately formed cap f secured to the end of the body remote from the discharge end. The flange h may be secured to the part a by copper-brazing and fuel leaking past the valve-stem b escapes through a vent pipe g. The part a and the branch piece j are produced from cylindrical work pieces by turning and boring operations.
