Abstract
709,328. Electric filters. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. (Federal Telecommunication Laboratories, Inc.). Sept. 5, 1952, No. 22391/52. Class 40 (8) A filter unit comprises a line 8 extending between a source and a load and having a pair of resonators units 5 and 6 coupled thereto. An auxiliary load 14 is also coupled across unit 5. Several such units are shown arranged in cascade. As shown, the line and resonators are of coaxial construction, and are coupled by coaxial line sections 10 of length one quarter of the operating wavelength. The outer conductor of line 10 is joined to the outer conductor of the resonator 5. The inner conductor 24 of the former is connected to a member 26 capacitatively coupled to inner conductor 18 of the resonator. The farther end of member 26 is connected to outer conductor 5 through an adjustable twin wire section 16. The resonator is provided with an adjustable tuning member 29.
