Abstract

A refractory lining is composed of when dry, in molecular proportions carbon 1.0; silica 1.4 to 1.7; alumina 0.07 to 0.11; iron oxide 0.007 to 0.025; lime 0.003 to 0.12, and magnesia 0.0010 to 0.0035. 4 to 8 per cent. water is added for ramming or briquetting under pressure to form bricks of different shapes. The constituents are ground to a grain size up to 5 mms.
