707,375. Stop motions for looms. WILSON & LONGBOTTOM, Ltd., and PORTER, I. S. July 3, 1950 [July 1, 1949], No. 17415/49. Class 142(1) A stop-motion for a pile carpet loom weaving two fabrics face to face is operated when a belt carrying a pile cutting knife becomes slack or breaks. A belt 1 carrying the knife passes over a pulley 3 which is mounted on a rod 4. The belt is tensioned by a spring 6. A contact 9 is mounted on, but insulated from, a bracket 5 and when the belt breaks or slackens the spring moves the pulley 3 and rod 4 until a stop 8 engages the contact 9, thereby completing an electric circuit and stopping the loom.
