Abstract
829,317. Loom let-off motions. METAPIC SOC. ANON. HOLDING LUXEMBOURGEOISE. Dec. 14, 1956 [Dec. 17, 1955], No. 38270/56. Class 142(2) In a let-off motion a feeler roller rests on the yarn on the warp beam and, as the diameter of the beam decreases, the roller alters the let-off drivng mechanism and the position of the back rest to maintain the linear rate of let-off and the yarn tension constant. The roller is mounted on an arm 13 having a member 11 secured thereto. The member 11 has a stud 14 en gaging a cam face 15 on a bell crank lever 16 connected to a lever 9 by a rod 18. The lever 9 is connected by a rod 6 and a spring 7 to a rocking lever 4. The latter is connected by a rod 5 to a bell crank lever 2 carrying the back rest 1. The lever 4 abuts at its lower end a block 19 on a rod 20 connected to the beam driving mechanism 28, the rod 20 being reciprocated by a member 25 and a further block 21 from a lever 26 and a cam 27. When the beam diameter decreases, the arm 13 turns, the stud 14 moves over the cam face 15 and via, members 16, 18, 9, 6 and 7 alters the position of the lever 4. The rod 5 causes a corresponding alteration in the position of the back rest. The movement of the lever 4 decreases a gap d between the block 21 and the member 25 so that the reciprocation of the rod 20 is increased and the linear amount of warp let off is maintained constant. The rod 6 may be connected to one of a number of positions along the lever 9 according to the weft in use.
