Abstract

605,468. Let-off motions; warp beams. FARNWORTH. Ltd.. R.. and CROOK. J. W. Sept. 10, 1945, No. 23225. [Class 142(ii)] A warp beam 10 is driven through worm gearing 11. 12, ratchet gearing 14, 19, and a link 20 having a lost motion connection with the slav 23 by means of a pin 22 and slot 21. The stroke of the pawl 19 is governed by the displacement of a guide roller 31 against springs 36, acting through a rod 33 to position a collar 27 (loose on the rod 20) constituting a stop for a fixed collar 24. The return stroke of the pawl is effected by a spring 25 and, when the warp tension moves the collar 27 sufficiently to the left, the pawl is given a working stroke on the beat-up movement of the slay. The warp beam, Fig. 5, comprises a barrel 10a having enlarged ends 10b on which adjustable flanges 10c are secured by set screws engaging a series of notches 10f.
