Abstract
600,866. Warp let-off motions for looms. DUXBURY, W., and DUXBURY, W. H. Oct. 13, 1945, No. 26844. [Class 142(ii)] A warp beam weighting motion comprises a series of springs G, G<SP>1</SP>, G<SP>2</SP>, confined between a fixed bar A and a movable bar F, the latter being connected through screw - adjusting devices H, H<SP>1</SP>, with chains L which pass round the ruffles L<SP>1</SP> of the warp beam and are anchored to fixed points in end brackets M. The springs may be made of different strengths and lengths, and the screwadjusting devices may be actuated to cause some or all of the springs to come into action. A combined back-rest bracket N, Fig 2, and chain-locking bracket M is adjustably secured in a vertical direction to each end-frame of the loom, and each bracket M is formed with a hole through which a chain is passed and fastened by a cranked pin M<SP>2</SP> inserted through one of the chain links. A chain-locking slide O, Fig. 1, is adjustably mounted in a horizontal direction along the chain-locking bracket M so that a narrow warp beam can be used in a wide loom. A beam-pike holder R, Fig. 2, is provided for use in conjunction with each beam bracket P, the holder R comprising a plate apertured to receive the pike P<SP>1</SP> and having an arm R<SP>1</SP> adjustably secured thereto so as to prevent the pike from jumping out of the brackets F6 adjustably mounted on the movable bar F and work in conjunction with tapered cotters which can each be inserted in one or other of the slots to enable the load on the warp beam to be released.
