Abstract
717,875. Circular looms. SAINT FRERES. May 23, 1952 [May 23, 1951], No. 13157/52. Class 142(2) Each warp thread in a circular loom is provided with an individual stop motion .member; the stop motion members are arranged in groups, each group bearing against a bar which is acted on by a spring to tension the associated group of warp threads. In one embodiment bars 7 are mounted in pivoted levers 8 subjected to the action of relatively strong springs 9. Pivoted warp stop motion levers 1 during normal working of the loom bear against the bars 7 under the influence of the warp threads. On thread breakage a lever 1 is urged by a weak spring 10 into contact with a conducting bar 11 to close a circuit to stop the loom. In a second embodiment the warp stop motion described in Specification 573,398 is used, modified by an abutment 22 on each stop motion rod 12 bearing on a bar 26 carried by pivoted levers 23 subjected to the action of a strong spring 25. The levers 23 and bar 26 form a frame common to a number of rods 12 and serve to tension a group of warp threads.
