Abstract

774,021. Looms with stationary weft supply. PORTER, I. S. Dec. 12, 1955 [Dec. 15, 1954], No. 36247/54. Addition to 704,401. Class 142 (2). [Also in Group XXIV] Weft drawn from a stationary supply is inserted in the shed by a needle reciprocated by the epicyclic motion used as described in the parent Specification to insert and withdraw pile wires. The weft W is drawn from a package 8, through a tension device 9, to a needle 2 mounted on a slide 1. The slide is reciprocated by cords 3, 4 driven from the arm 6 of the epicyclic motion. Selvedge forming means, which may comprise a selvedge shuttle, is provided.
