Abstract

575,804. Looms. BADDELEY, C. H. April 6, 1944, No. 6461. [Class 142 (ii)] In a weft feeding device arranged to draw a supply of yarn from a stationary package at each reciprocation of the weft carrier two movable guides are raised by the shedding mechanism to loop the yarn round a stationary guide. Yarn Y is passed to the shed through eyelets S, R ; prior to each weft insertion it is looped round the stationary guide P by the moving guide members G, F operated by the shedding mechanism through a cord K and a rod D adjustably connected to the cord K by a slide L. The size of the loop may be varied by adjusting the slide L or the guide P. A felt pad T provides a braking action to prevent backward movement of weft.
