Abstract

848,695. Selvedge forming devices in shuttleless looms. IMATEX INDUSTRIA MACCHINE TESSILI S.R.L. Oct. 1, 1956 [Sept. 29, 1955], No. 29902/56. Class 142(2). A selvedge is formed by passing a selvedge thread bobbin C through a loop of weft inserted by a curved needle A. The bobbin is carried by a frame 46 mounted on bearings 48 in a casing B and having a peg 45 engaging a helical slot 42 in a revolving cylinder 40. The weft loop lies in a groove 401 positioned centrally of the cylinder. The cylinder is driven by a shaft 16 from a shaft 10 through gears 12, 14. The weft inserter is driven by means described in Specification 848,694. Driving means for the healds is as described in Specification 848,693. In a modification, two cylinders 40 are provided, one to raise the bobbin and the other to lower it, the frame 46 being clutched to the appropriate cylinder at the ends of its travel.
