Abstract

An intermediate shaft 12; having sprockets 27, 28 and a gear 24 for driving healds, take-up motion and weft inserter respectively; has oppositely rotating loosely mounted gears 11, 14 which are selectively coupled to the shaft 12 by a sliding dog clutch 18, the gear 11 being for normal running and the gear 14 for unweaving. The dog clutch 18 will couple only in one position to ensure correct loom timing.
