393,053. Weft-inserting mechanism for looms with stationary-weft supplies. HUTCHINSON, HOLLINGWORTH, & CO., Ltd. and WOOD, A. E., Dobcross Loom Works, Dobcross, Yorkshire. April 9, 1932, No. 10185. [Class 142 (ii).] A rod, bar, or needle a, designed by reciprocal movement to carry a weft-inserting member through or part way through the shed, is provided with an abutment b to co-operate at each end of its traverse with adjustably fixed stops c, d, the surplus movement of the actuating means i being taken up by springs f, g. This arrangement enables the stroke of the weft inserter to be kept constant irrespective of wear in the actuating mechanism. A buffer may be provided to cushion the picking stick or actuating means i at the outward and, if desired, the inward limit of its swing.
