Abstract

500,756. Looms with stationary weft supplies. GLEDHILL & SONS, Ltd., W., and GLEDHILL, W. V. Nov. 18, 1937, No. 31687. [Classes 142 (i) and 142 (ii)] Each weftbobbin is rotatably supported in an inclined slot a<1> in one of the bars a of a creel or frame and is acted upon by a braking brush &c. e<1> on an adjustably weighted lever e, the braking action of which decreases as the weft mass decreases in diameter. Each weft passes beneath spaced fingers # and beneath the horizontal portion g of a pivoted angle finger, the vertical portion of which engages a contact rod or wire when the weft fails or unduly slackens and stops the loom. Flat ribbon or tape wefts may be used.
