[Class 142 (iii).] In weft detector mechanism for giving indication of weft exhaustion to mechanism (not shown) effective to bring about a change in the operation of the loom, an arm 24, Fig. 1, provided with a resilient or resiliently mounted weft feeler, is mounted so as to be rotatable and slidable linearly to and from the lay under control of a single spring 26 acting on a projection 28 thereon. The weft feeler comprises a resilient wire 40 shaped and arranged to bend upon impact with the weft, and formed with a vertical weft engaging portion 43, Fig. 3, or provided with a grooved block 60, Fig. 5, to contact with the yarn. The arm 24 is supported by a stud 23 on a carrier 22 slidably mounted on a bracket carried by the loom frame, and when the feeler is moved sidewise consequent upon weft exhaustion, a forwardly extending finger 25 of the arm 24 tilts a controller 15 into the path of an actuator 14 to effect the change.
