677,548. Stop-motions for looms. BARTON, H. Aug. 9, 1950 [Aug. 17, 1949], No. 21366/49. Class 142(i) A warp-stop motion, of the type having drop wires suspended above sliding serrated bars, is connected to the loom knock-off handle and brake through the " stop-on-pick " weft fork mechanism. When a warp thread breaks, a cable 6, usually connected to the knock-off handle, is pulled. A lever 4, pivoted on a bracket 2 on the reciprocating rod 1 of the weft stop-on-pick mechanism, is drawn down against a spring 5 and engages a plate 8 fixed on the underside of the slay 7. This engagement prevents the reciprocation of of the rod 1 and the rod fails to move a shutter covering a slot, and when the slay moves forward the brake lever and loom knock-off handle are operated simultaneously.
