Abstract

706,827. Clamps. THIENES, F. W. June 4, 1952 [July 30, 1951], No. 14079/52. Class 61 A clamp for holding two work pieces which are to be joined together in angular relationship as by welding or soldering comprises a base plate 5 having ledges 6 and 7 against which workpieces 8 and 9 are supported, and clamping jaws 10 and 11 formed on the arms of tongs the pivot 12 of which is fixed to a rocking lever 13 pivoted at 14 on the base. The jaws are held in clamped position by a slide 15. The lever 13 may be provided with several holes for selective insertion of the pivot 12. The ledges on the base plate are perpendicular or inclined at an angle to one another. In a modification, detachable inclined inserts are provided for the ledges.
