Abstract

812,193. Work-holders. SPEED TOOLS Ltd. (Spotton Co. Ltd., J.). March 18, 1957 [Aug. 29, 1956], No. 26423/56. Class 83 (3). [Also in Group XXIII] A tool for holding rods, tubes, &c. during welding comprises a pair of clamps 13 mounted one at each end of a U-shaped base-member 10, means being provided for locking each of the clamps in a predetermined angular position on the base. Each clamp 13 is of channel-section and has a clamping-screw 24 for holding the work therein and a shaft 17 rotatably mounted in bifurcated bearings in the base. The bifurcated portions are clamped together by a screw 15. A disc 19 on each shaft 17 has an indicating-line co-operating with an angularscale on the base.
