706,075. Wick burners. HARPER & CO., Ltd., J., and CROWLEY, C. March 13, 1953 [March 18, 1952], No. 6939/52. Class 75 (1) A wick trimmer 19 for an oil burner having a circular wick 12 is combined with a removable flame spreader 16, the trimmer being mounted on the upper surface of the spreader so that by removing and inverting the spreader, the trimmer can be applied to the wick with the spreader forming a handle. The trimmer comprises a cylindrical body having an annular flange 20 provided with a ring of trimming holes 22, and a rim 21. The trimmer is spotwelded to the spreader with the flange and rim uppermost. The flame spreader 16 is secured to the upper end of a perforated tube 17 connected by bayonet connections 18 to the central air tube 10 of the burner.
