Abstract
986,813. Burners. MAX WEISHAUPT SCHWENDI G.m.b.H. Feb. 5, 1962 [Feb. 6, 1961], No. 4412/62. Heading F4T. An air swinlar for use in a liquid fuel burning device comprises a disc 13 with a central circular aperture 15 from which radiate slats 16 provided with curved scoops 17. The latter are on the downstream side of the disc 13 and are substantially L-shaped in section. The disc 13 is connected by lugs 10 to an inner tubular member 6 axially adjustable by means of bolts 4, 5 and slats 7, 8 within an air intake tube 1 having a radially contracted downstream end and mounted in a sleeve 2 of a frame 3. The periphery of the disc 13 defines an annular air passage 18 with the inside of tube 1. The disc 13 is spaced between the downstream end of the intake tube 1 and a fuel nozzle 14 but is positioned closer to the nozzle 14.
