Class 75(1) An oil burner comprises an annular oil channel 1 on which is mounted a chimney having inner and outer perforated walls 5, 6 the inner walls being provided with an uppwardly extending perforated flange 10 and the outer wall 6 with an upwardly. and outwardly extending flange 7 and a removable cover plate 12 placed upon the inner flange 10 to cover the gap within the flange on the inner wall the combination being such that the flame shape above the chimney can be varied by placing the plate 12 on, or removing it from, the flange on the inner wall. Cover plates 12 of different diameters may be used to give the desired flame shape. The inner wall 5 carries upper and lower perforated plates 9; 8 and an imperforate shield 4 is carried by and spaced from the outer wall 6. The cover 13, shown in Fig. 4a, comprises two circular plates fixed on a stem and having a. toroidal nickel chrome wire 14 secured around its periphery. A wire dome-shaped basket 15 may also be placed, by. means of a rim 16, on the inner rim 7b of the flange
