370,589. Gas cookers. WADE, H., 111, Hatton Garden, London.-(Akt.-Ges. H. Vogt-Gut. ; Arbon, Switzerland.) March 2, 1931, No. 6460. [Classes 75 (i) and 126.] Flame deflectors; baffles.-A gas cooker has an annular gap 12 which forms a vertical inlet for secondary air between a ring of horizontally directed gas jets 3 and a central boss 7 which directs the burning gases upwardly into the combustion chamber 8 formed by the boss and an annular member 9. The annular member 9 has radial ribs 11 on which a cooling vessel may stand if parts of the top plate 10 are removed. The boss 7 and member 9 are made of chamotte or other earthenware. In a modification, the central boss is hollow, and the combustion chamber is completed by a bottomless dish-shaped member, the upper rim of which may be square or circular, and the lower rim circular, and which has radial ribs, extending from the lower edge to a level above the top of the cooker, to support a cooking vessel.
