Portable gas stoves; air, supplying for combustion; baffles. -- A portable gas stove for cooking and heating comprises an open-topped chamber a, having legs d, in which is centrally arranged an atmospheric gas burner e, flame outlets i bein, provided in the upper edge of the wall c which serves to support a cooking utensil. The burner is of the kind having a horizontal series of jets e<1>, and air for combustion is supplied through a number of slots h arranged in the bottom b of the chamber a around the burner e. The stove is adapted for heating by the provision cf a perforated cylinder j, Fig. 3, fitted internally with conical baffles m, n, the former perforated and the latter imperforate, and provided at the bottom with a horizontal flange k, which rests on the upper edge of the wall c, and a vertical flange l fitting within the wall c so as to close the outlets i. In the modification shown in Fig. 4 the lower part of the burner is formed integral with the bottom b of the stove, the holes e' being provided in a cylindrical flange o on the burner top which is secured by a screw p and formed with an inverted conical projection to heat and direct the mixture issuing from the supply-tube g.
